Tomorrow Monday the 9th of November is the most important date in German history.

Exactly 20 years are past since the borders of the Berlin Wall were opened on the 9th of November 1989, the starting shot of the reunification of the two German countries: "Federal Republic of Germany and the former "German Democratic Republic" to one Germany in 1990.

Many many people had protested against the dictatorial regime of GDR.
It's somehow very cruel to be implemented behind a wall for so many years exactly 40 years. It was really like a prison, in which the whole population of that country were "arrested". Lots of people were arrested from the very cruel "Stasi" the department of state safety service and killed by the try to escape from the East into the West or if just the "Stasi" had even known from somewhere had said or done something against the socialistic or communistic regime you could have been arrested.

And maybe without the following three heads of the government at that time:

George Bush sen. (USA),
Helmut Kohl (the chancellor of West-Germany) together with the German foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher and
Michail Gorbatschow (USSR)

were the opening of the Berlin Wall not been possible.
